The Wine Estate of the Langguth Foundation

The main shareholders in the Foundation Estate are the Johann Wolfgang Langguth Foundation and the familyowned Franz Wilhelm Langguth Erben winery. The former is a charitable organisation, which supports a range of activities, including the restoration of historical buildings and ecological projects like the reintroduction of swans to the Mosel valley. Its most important activity is the funding of help for handicapped children. The winery, as the other shareholder, evolved from vineyards owned by the Langguth family and looks back on a proud 200-year tradition. These vineyards were incorporated into the Foundation Estate in 1991.

Vineyards in world-famous Mosel locations

In addition to the Langguth family’s Trabener Würzgarten and Trabener Kräuterhaus vineyards, the Foundation also owns vineyards in some of the most famous Mosel sites. Among these are such famous names as the unique Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Bernkasteler Badstube, Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Erdener Treppchen.

Estate Riesling Feinherb

Our Estate Riesling is a medium dry white wine from the Mosel Valley. Its fine pineapple and citric aromas, coupled with a mild, yet refreshing acidity, make it the perfect accompaniment to food. Naturally, it tastes just as perfect on its own, or as a relaxing after-dinner drink.

Estate Riesling Feinherb Erdener Treppchen

Full-bodied and elegant, Erdener Treppchen is an almost medium dry Riesling wine with ripe fruit notes balanced by a pleasantly mellow acidity. On the palate it unfolds an incredibly long, satisfying finish, which is characteristic of high-class Riesling wines. Estate Riesling Spätlese Trabener Würzgarten

Grown, as the name suggests, in our Trabener Würzgarten vineyard, this Riesling Spätlese has a fine residual sweetness, temper-ed by a refreshingly crisp acidity. The bouquet is full of peach notes, with a linger-ing minerality that literally prompts the next sip. A wine for relaxing evenings, but also as a fine accompaniment to the spicy delights of Oriental cuisines.
